Q: I live in Orange, should I register in your league?
A: You must meet one of the three requirements below to register with OLL.
If your Player currently attend: California Elementary, Cambridge Elementary, Lampson Elementary, Holy Family Catholic School, Palmyra Elementary, Portola Middle School, St. Johns Lutheran School, Sycamore Elementary, West Orange Elementary or Yorba Middle School you are eligible to register at OLL. Please use the school enrollment Waiver.
If you live within the blue area on the map in the link below that indicates Orange Little League boundaries you are eligible to register at OLL. Please submit three (3) proofs of residency.
If you previously lived within OLL boundaries and have not missed a season of play you are eligible to register at OLL. Please use the II(d) Waiver.
Q: How do I determine my player League age?
A: A Player League Age is determined by their age as of May 1, 2015. See below age chart to determine.

Q: Which division will my child be placed in?
A: Orange Little League has 7 divisions for children to play baseball. T-Ball and Single A are non-competitive divisions meaning no game scores are kept and no standings are recorded. Double A through Juniors divisions are competitive with score and standings kept. Here is a summary of how children are placed in each division
(Single A through Juniors MUST attend tryouts for Draft and All-Star eligibility)
T-Ball: 4, 5 & first year of baseball 6 year olds
Single A (Machine Pitch): 6, 7, and 8 year olds
Double A (1st year kid pitch): 8 and 9 year olds - some cases 7 & 10 year olds
Triple A: 10 and 11 year olds - some cases 9 & 12 year olds
Majors: 11 and 12 year olds - on rare cases there could be 10 year olds
Juniors: 13 and 14 year olds
Seniors: 14, 15 and 16 year olds
Q: My child is the next Hank Aaron, why can't he play up a division?
A: It is OLL policy to place children in divisions based on their age and previous playing experience. The number of teams in each division is dictated by the age distribution of players registration. If players are requesting to play up a division, they will be made eligible for the draft and may be selected by Managers during the draft, but there is no guarantee that they will be selected.
Q: What are the 2015 Spring season fees and what are they covering?
A: Players are registered according to their birth date. A players league age for the 2015 Spring season is his/her age on April 30, 2015. Registration fees cover the cost of shared team equipment, full team uniform (includes: jersey, pants, socks, belt and hat), base picture package, trophy and snack bar buyout (NEW).
Q: Why does the league require a volunteer commitment?
A: Orange Little League requires volunteer commitment to defray the cost of running the league. The only way to keep the registration fees reasonable is to require our OLL Families to volunteer their time.
Q: What positions can I volunteer for?
A: The current volunteer positions available at OLL are:
Field Maintenance (1 hour per week)

Q: When is the season played?
A: Practices will begin late January / early February, with the regular season games starting in March and running through the end of May / beginning of June. At the conclusion of the regular season OLL participates in the city tournament, TOC, 7/8 Machine Pitch tournament, and All-Stars. If your child participates in any of these tournaments they could play well into June. The regular season game schedules will be released when teams have officially been formed.
Q: How are the teams formed?
A: The T-Ball division is formed through player requests and the school the player attends. Single A - Juniors divisions are formed by the annual player draft.

Q: Now that I've registered, what happens next?
A: All divisions should expect to hear from their Managers in late January / early February after the draft is complete.
Q: When and where will players practice?
A: Practices will start in late January / early February and will run throughout the season. Practices typically occur on weekdays at one of the local area fields that OLL has access to. The team Manager will set the day and time for team practices, based on his practice field allocation and personal availability.
Q: When/where will games be played?
A: All divisions will play two games per week, one week night and one Saturday. Week night games are typically played on Monday through Thursday between 4:30 and 7:00pm. All T-Ball and Single A games are play at the Sycamore and Portola fields - ONLY. Double A - Juniors play at the Sycamore and Portola fields or travel to rival leagues (Inter-League Play). The exact schedule will be released after all players have registered and the teams have been formed.
Q: What equipment does the league provide?
A: The league provides full team uniform (jersey, pants, hat, belt, & socks) for all divisions. In addition, the league will provide the Manager of each team baseballs, batting helmets (if needed), and catchers gear for all divisions for the teams to use. The Managers equipment is shared amongst all the players on the team.
Q: What equipment does my player need to provide?
A: Players are expected to bring their own fielding glove and cleats. Players are welcome to bring their own position specific equipment, such as batting helmets or catchers gear, if so desired. Players may bring their own Little League approved bats, but please note that Little League guidelines are constantly evolving.
