HISTORY OF ORANGE LITTLE LEAGUE
Orange Little League was founded in 1958 by a group of enthusiastic parents that simply wanted their sons to play our national pastime, baseball. Orange Little League demonstrates an American community that loves its children, families, and baseball. We'd like to offer a sincere thank you to the founders and to all who have continued to make Orange Little League flourish today.
Orange Little League is a non-profit organization run by ordinary people volunteering their time. Orange Little League depends on sponsors, fundraisers, and snack bar support to survive. There are several areas where people can volunteer. Coaching, team parent, umpiring, field maintenance, snack bar, apparel store, family events just to name a few.
Little League has several divisions starting from T-Ball all the way to Senior League. The birthday cutoff for Little League is April 30 (the players age on April 30 is their Little League age).

Registration fees usually cover the costs of regular season Player uniforms (jersey, hats, belts and pants), basic photo packages and trophies.
Each year all Players ages 6 though 12 (excluding first year 6 year olds) are required to try out. Try-outs typically happen in mid-January and are helpful for Managers who are preparing for their Player draft. Players are separated by age. Each group has a different time to try out (try-outs are assigned to Players at registration).
During try-outs each Player participates in three different stations:
OUTFIELD: Player will get 2 fly balls (Player throws to Second base)
INFIELD: Player will get 2 grounders at Shortstop (Player throws ball to Second Base) then the Shortstop goes to First base to be the First baseman for the next Shortstop
BATTING: Each Player will get 3 pitches from the pitching machine, after 3rd pitch, the batter will run the bases.
Each year Players and Managers vote for Players they think should represent Orange Little League for their All-Star teams. The voting is usually held mid-May. Players also vote for their All-Star Manager. All-Star rosters are usually announced around early to mid-June (this date is set by Little League International). All-Star tournament games usually begin early July ad last between two to four weeks (depending on how far they advance). The Little League World Series is usually in late August.
